Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars’ Lindsey Shaw Teases Alison’s New Role in Season 3 – Exclusive

The highly-anticipated Pretty Little Liars Halloween episode (Season 3, Episode 13: “This Is a Dark Ride,” airing October 23!) is less than a week away, and we’re still lookig for clues about who dies and what happens in the episode. To help calm ourselves we sat down with Lindsey Shaw (Paige McCullers) to talk about Garrett, the Halloween special, and new storylines for Ali.

Wetpaint Entertainment: What does Garrett being out of jail mean for them?

Lindsey Shaw: Halloween special. That’s all I can say.

And to what about Ali’s death?

Well, there’s very cool new flashbacks and new information from Ali. There’s some really sick scenes with Ali here. So she’s still very much in the forefront. You sort of find that she was almost a pawn in the game as well. Even though she catalyzed it all, there’s so many people that this involves and so many storylines now. Whereas before you kind of thought she ran things, I think she’s just part of this network of what was going on. So I think that that’s what they uncover more. So if I could say the one thing, it’s pretty shocking what this girl was up to.

I’m thinking you guys are setting yourselves up for like seasons and seasons to come. Doesn’t it feel like that?

They’re just taking on the world, yeah.

Is this experience, with these fanatical fans, different than anything you’ve done before?

Absolutely. This show is unlike anything I’ve ever been a part of before. The fan base is outstanding! And I cannot go out without getting recognized from this show alone. I’ve done it a long time, but I’ve only done it like less than 20 episodes, which is great, but I’ve been working for ten years. I just can’t believe that this slate of episodes garners that. It’s like everybody knows and sees. That’s insane how much publicity this character [has received], the Twitter following, the internet sensation that the show has become. I’ve seriously never been a part of anything like it.

How does it present itself? Are people mad at you, or are they suspicious? Do they come up and say anything?

Paige has gotten such a good reception. It’s been awesome. I think sort of watching her crash and burn on the show a lot, and move past the first Paige that they saw - and the haircut. They’ve become really accepting of her, and I think they’re proud of her. I think she’s somebody who’s coming out and been really strong. I just think that sort of speaks for itself more than anything else. So I’ve gotten a really happy reception. People like that I treat Emily well, and that she’s happy. People who like the couple really like it. So the reception of Paige has been really good.

Don’t miss the next new episode of PLL, the Halloween special, on Tuesday, October 23 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
