Two Truths and a Lie With True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten
You might know every inch of Ryan Kwanten’s body, but let’s get personal: How well do you really know the man underneath that rock-hard six-pack?
It's time for a game of "Two Truths and a Lie," Truebies! Here’s the deal: We’ll give you three “facts” about Ryan and you have to vote on which one is fiction.
A. He’s been bitten by a shark! Ryan was just a hunky pre-teen, hanging ten and surfing some sick waves, when all of a sudden he landed on what he thought was a rock. When his hand emerged from the water, Ryan realized he had been bitten by a shark! Ryan says, “They did an analysis at the hospital that said it was a wobbegong shark, which is, like, a shark with no teeth.” OK, so maybe bitten is an exaggeration; Ryan were merely “gummed.” Basically the shark made out with his hand.
B. His first kiss was on a Ferris wheel. Ryan’s love life is straight out of a tweenage novella. He had his first kiss at the ripe old age of 12, when he took his crush to the carnival and they made out at the top of the Ferris wheel. And get this, the make out sesh lasted for a full 10 minutes! Ryan says, “It was like out of a movie. The Ferris wheel got stuck, so we were up there for quite a while [laughs]. I don’t know, like 10 or 15 minutes! We’re still mates.”
C. He has no formal acting training! You would never guess it from Ryan’s stellar performance as Jason onTrue Blood, but this boy is a total armature! Ryan’s skills are 100% natural — he didn’t go to fancy acting classes, attend theater school, or work one-on-one with a coach. He’s just that talented. Believe it!
