The Walking Dead Season 3 Spoilers: “Every Episode Is Crazy,” Two in Particular Will Be “Magnificent”
Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) can't just file for divorce on The Walking Dead Season 3. For one thing, there are no lawyers left. (Success?) For another, they have a son named Carl (Chandler Riggs), who is slowly becoming less irritating and more important to the group.
Andrew Lincoln told TV Guide he thinks dictator Rick and his super-pregnant/super-annoying wife Lori are actually doing a "pretty damn good job” of holding things together, considering the circumstances.
"This is what I realize more and more: This is a family drama set in hell," Andrew said. "That's the way I've played it. Last season, I read Lonesome Dove, just because I felt it was right and it was a beautiful book and it just resonated with Season 2. This season, it's The Road. That was the book that I read. I think that that's very much where we're headed."
The Road, eh? That was a father/son story. No mama. Hint?
Anyway, Andrew also teased some good upcoming drama. He goes into detail about various characters in the full Q&A, but adds, "I think every episode is crazy. You wait. I think that Rick goes down the rabbit hole this season, and you start him off in a very dark place. The work that I've seen everybody been doing has been fantastic. I do think it's more brutal and severe. Each week the audience gets slapped in the face, but it's also got incredible moments of hope and emotion. There are two episodes in particular that I think are magnificent."
So we're going to get slapped in the face every week, and two of those times it will be magnificent. Wow, now it REALLY sounds like something will happen to Lori! (Kidding. Unless...)
