It’s nearly time for the Liars to climb aboard the “A” train during tonight’s Halloween episode (Season 3, Episode 13: “This Is a Dark Ride”) and face all of the drama full speed ahead. But which Liar will regret purchasing her ticket the most?
Based on the clips we’ve seen, our money is on Aria (Lucy Hale). After all, we’re pretty sure her Halloween plans didn’t include having something slipped into her drink and ending up tied up somewhere alone … call it a hunch.
But why is Aria the “A” team’s target in this particular episode? Has she pissed Toby (Keegan Allen) off recently? We can’t imagine that the precious Aria did anything too mean. She’s actually the least catty of all the Liars, don’t you think? Well, so long as her family or her beau aren’t at stake. OK, maybe they’re all equal amounts catty.
Here are some reasons we think the “A” team could have for targeting Aria:
It’s her turn: We know that this might sound a little too fair for the “A” team, but it could be legitimate. Think about it. In the midseason finale (Season 3, Episode 12: “The Lady Killer”), Hanna’s (Ashley Benson) boyfriend got shot, Emily (Shay Mitchell) nearly died, and Spencer’s (Troian Bellisario) love was revealed as a hoodie-wearing enemy, which is pretty much the worst kind of enemy. Maybe it’s simply time that Aria feared for her life? It sounds horrible, we know, but this is the “A” team we’re talking about here.
It has something to do with the Fitz/Fitzgeralds: The only thing we can think of Aria doing recently that could make someone mad is keeping the fact that Ezra’s (Ian Harding) a father from him. Could her “A” drama have to do with that secret, Maggie or any member of the Fitz/Fitzgerald clan? We certainly know how Mama Fitzgerald feels about Aria … could one of them be in contact with (or a member of) the “A” team?
She’s an easy target: There’s always the strength-in-numbers argument. Aria is the only Liar aboard the train without a date to help protect her. Yes, Spencer’s date is Toby, but maybe that actually works in her favor this time around. Regardless, being alone on a moving train full of people (well, at least two) who live to plot against you is probably not the best place to be.
Her size: OK, we know this sounds funny, but let’s state the obvious here: Aria is an adorable tiny human. She’s short. And the train is crowded. Therefore, losing her in the crowd wouldn’t be the craziest thing to ever happen. So it might take someone a little while longer to, we don’t know, realize she’s gone and/or panic about not being able to see her.
Alright, that’s all we got. Why do you think the “A” team is targeting Aria? Are you worried about what might happen to her? Can you think of anything Aria has done toward Mona (Janel Parrish) or Toby that might fuel them on? Or do you think a Fitz(gerald) could be working with (or on) the “A” team? If so, which one?
Bottom line: Let’s hope Aria is more of a fighter than she looks.
