Should Castle’s Molly Quinn Play Tris in Divergent?
Are you ready to see Castle’s Molly Quinn swap out her laser gun for a real one? Because fans are rallying for her to play Tris in the film adaptation of Divergent!
Helmed as the next Hunger Games, this Young Adult novel is the first book in a futuristic trilogy, following 16-year-old Beatrice (aka “Tris”) as she makes the biggest decision of her life.
No, this isn’t who to go to prom with — it’s which “faction” to spend the rest of her life in, in which she must decide if she should leave her family behind forever. And once she makes her decision, she is thrown into a violent initiation process, using her physical and mental strength to stay alive.
There are plenty of examples, but our favorite is the laser tag scene from last season. Who can forget her descending from the ceiling on a belay line and proceeding to beat Castle at his own game?
And while Veronica thinks that Shailene is the perfect fit, her physical description of Tris — “a slight person with youthful, delicate features, someone who shocks you with how strong and capable she becomes” — sounds like Alexis to us!
Also, Breanne Heldman at NextMovie recently made a strong case for Molly as well, saying, "Off camera, Molly has a sass and intelligence that’s also so totally Tris.” We couldn’t agree more!
