The Voice Season 3: Best Performance of the Night From Battle Round 5 on Oct. 22,2012 (VIDEO)

With a shortened episode of The Voice Season 3 last night, we didn’t get to see all of the battle rounds in their entirety. However, the performances we did see were very impressive, making it tough to decide who came out on top.

There was a mix of classic songs and pop hits, but we were most drawn to Brandon Mahone and Nicole Nelson’s rendition of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. The powerful Team Adam contestants balanced each other out perfectly in the famous duet, having fun dancing around the stage and hitting unexpected notes at the same time. Their harmonies were the best we saw last night, making for the ultimate battle pairing!

In the end, Nicole’s established career trumped high schooler Brandon, but the young, soulful singer — who Adam said “became an adult” during his performance — has many successful years ahead of him. No one stole him, but we hope to see him back on The Voice stage in an upcoming season!
