Cassadee Pope Calls Her Biggest Competitor on The Voice Season 3 “Scary as Hell”

Though the remaining contestants on The Voice Season 3 can breathe a post-battle round sigh of relief, the competition is far from over. The knockout round begins next week, followed by the daunting live shows.

When Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with some of this season’s contestants, we asked them about their biggest competition on the show.

Team Blake’s Cassadee Pope was first to answer, and was quick to mention a Team Cee Lo contestant.

“I think Trevin [Hunte] is the one to beat,” she said. “I think Trevin is scary as hell. He’s ridiculous. For me, him or Amanda [Brown]. They’re forces to be reckoned with. Not only are they amazing, but they’re humble.”

It’s no surprise that she mentioned Trevin and Amanda. Coach Cee Lo Green named them the two the frontrunners of the season in a recent interview on the Today Show.

But Trevin and Amanda weren’t the only ones noted when we spoke with the contestants. Team Adam’s Nicole Nelson mentioned another Team Cee Lo adversary.

“Immediately I thought Avery [Wilson] was the one to beat,” she admitted. “He totally is a prodigy. He’s a superstar already.”

But the soulful singer also noted that early audience favorites might not be the only ones to watch out for this season.

“There are a lot of people who you don't get to see a lot of who are amazing,” she revealed. “You’re going to see another side to people that have been sort of montaged or you didn’t really get to see a lot of what they can do. There’s monsters, man, people are really good.”

But Team Adam’s Joe Kirkland was quick to point out another contestant who’s already been in the spotlight this season.

“I’m pretty sure that MacKenzie [Bourg]’s going to be the one that’s tough to beat, because he looks exactly like Harry Potter and Justin Bieber combined,” he said laughing.

Who do you think is the one to beat this season? Tell us your thoughts below!
