Eddie Bauer Recalls Bassinets Due to Suffocation Risk
Scary news for parents of newborns. Eddie Bauer has recalled a rocking-style bassinet for a serious risk of infant suffocation. Reports of babies under 3 months rolling and ending up trapped against the side of the bed, gasping for breath, has caused the Dorel Juvenile Group to recall 100,000 of the name brand baby beds. The bassinet has been on the market since 2007, and originally retailed for $150. What Consumers Need to Know
Recalled bassinets are dark brown, with a wooden headboard and footboard, but the cotton bassinet insert comes in many colors and patterns. The Eddie Bauer logo appears on a metal plate on the outside of the footboard, with a white dial that controls the bassinet’s rocking motion at the base.
These are the recalled model numbers: 10632, 10639, 10832, 10835, 10839, and BT021. The numbers appear either underneath the mattress or on the wash and care label.
If you own a recalled bassinet, stop using it immediately and call 877-416-0165, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit the company website.
