Pretty Little Liars Burning Question: Who Was the Joker in the Halloween Episode?

There were so many new mysteries popping up during the Pretty Little Liars Season 3 Halloween episode (Season 3, Episode 13: “This Is a Dark Ride”), but one of them continues to haunt us, even after multiple viewings. Who, exactly, was the person in that joker costume?

We explored this question before the Halloween special, but after seeing it, we have more clues. Here is what we learned about the joker from the episode.

Long red nails. Whoever was wearing the costume was also wearing long, red glue-on nails. Does this necessarily mean that the joker is a girl? After all, when Spencer (Troian Bellisario) showed one of the broken nails to Hanna (Ashley Benson) after the attack, Hanna said, “That’s a big girl...” And Spencer says, “Maybe it’s not for a girl at all.”

The joker poisoned Aria. Clearly, the joker is part of the group of people who tried to kill Aria (Lucy Hale), since he or she is the one that carried poison inside their ring, waiting for a moment when Aria wasn’t looking, and dropping it in her drink.

The joker is super-tall! In the fight scene with Paige (Lindsey Shaw), the Joker towered over her while elbowing her in the stomach. This isn’t a short, petite person like Lucas (Brendan Robinson) or Mona (Janel Parrish).

We’re pretty sure this helps us narrow down some suspects. Of all the people in Rosewood who are taller than Paige, strong, male, and unaccounted for, there is Toby (Keegan Allen), Ezra (Ian Harding), Byron (Chad Lowe), Jason (Drew Van Acker), Wren (Julian Morris), and Detective Wilden (Bryce Johnson).

Wren, Ezra, and Byron are all on our list for the episode’s “Who Is ‘A’?” roundup, so do you think any of them were wearing double costumes? Wren, after all, would have access to that kind of poison. And we don’t know where Jason was for most of the episode.

Tell us who you think the joker was in the comments below!
