American Idol

Is Phillip Phillips’s “Home” the Most Successful American Idol Coronation Song of All Time?

Phillip Phillips hasn’t even released his debut album yet and he already has a hit song on his hands!

The American Idol Season 11 winner’s song “Home” was certified double platinum this week, after being certified platinum just two and a half months ago.

P2 is the first Idol winner to have his coronation single go double platinum. Only Season 1 champ Kelly Clarkson’s “A Moment Like This” and Season 7 winner David Cook’s “Time of My Life” have managed to sell more than a million copies.

Despite its ubiquity, “Home” will be featured on Phillip’s debut, The World From the Side of the Moon, due out on November 19.
