Dancing With The Stars

DWTS All-Stars: Really, Len? Judge Calls Out Derek Hough For Country Week “Frippery”

Extra “stuff” is not judge Len Goodman’s cup of tea. Every season on Dancing With the Stars he calls out someone — usually Derek Hough and/or Mark Ballas for doing too much of this or not enough of that.

Last week, on All-Stars Week 5, Len got upset with Derek for what he felt was not a proper Rumba with Shawn Johnson.

This week, on Country Week 6, Len also had complaints about Shawn and Derek’s Cha-Cha-Cha to "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy." Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba both loved the fusion of country step and Cha-Cha-Cha. Carrie Ann just thought Shawn could’ve done better than her solo. Len said he thought the choreography was fantastic and the movement was brilliant. However, he told Derek, “Too much frippery, too many gimmicks. Let’s just get dancing along, can we?”

Bruno gave the Cha-Cha-Cha a 10, just like the Rumba last week. Carrie Ann gave the routine a 9.5. Len went pretty low, considering the other scores of the night, with a 8.5. That's the same score he gave Kirstie Alley's Rumba.

Was Len wrong again?
