This Season’s Hottest Design Collaborations: Mark Your Calendars Now!
For stylish gals on a budget, two words are a dream come true: designer collaboration. High-end fashion designers and labels such as Missoni, Derek Lam, Karl Lagerfeld, and Versace have been teaming up with the likes of Target, H&M, Topshop, and other wallet-friendly retailers for years, but these fab collabs only seem to be getting better and better. Here’s a look at the upcoming partnerships that have us warming up our credit cards. (Start clearing your schedules now, because you know this stuff won’t last for long!)
Rodarte for Starbucks The dynamic sister duo of Laura and Kate Mulleavy who make up designer label Rodarte have teamed with Starbucks to launch an array of coffee mugs, tote bags, and gift cards that will undoubtedly be designed to the nines. Scoop up a hostess gift or something for yourself starting November 13.
Maison Martin Margiela for H&M Swedish fast-fashion retailer H&M’s storied designer collaboration past includes such notable names as Stella McCartney, Lanvin, Karl Lagerfeld, and Marni. So it’s no surprise that the retailer landed Maison Martin Margiela, the French fashion house known for its oversized shapes and menswear-inspired pieces. Prices within the collection range from $12.99 to $399. All the MMM shopping fun begins on November 15 in H&M stores. Preview the entire collection (with prices) at Fashionista.com.
Sophie Theallet + The Limited Just in the nick of time for holiday soirées comes French fashion designer Sophie Theallet with a dress-heavy line for The Limited. Available in mid-November in stores and online, Theallet’s collection includes cardis, bags, belts, baubles, and (obvi) dresses, all priced from $29 to just above $100. The sleeveless coral number with a soft bow at the shoulder practically screams “wear me to your office bash!” Preview the dresses at Refinery 29.
Neiman Marcus + Target The most hyped design collab ever? Quite possibly. But we have a feeling this partnership, which launches in stores and online on December 1, will definitely live up to the hype. The retailer brings 24 big name designers (think Alice + Olivia, Diane von Furstenberg, Oscar de la Renta, and many more) to Target’s shelves just in time for the holidays. The products, which range from bicycles to suitcases to party dresses, will retail for $7.99 to $499.99. See all product photos and prices at Abullseyeview.com.
Prabal Gurung for Target The style obsessed rejoiced over the recent news that designer Prabal Gurung inked a deal with Target to produce a limited-edition line of women’s apparel, handbags, shoes, and jewelry. Expect tailored, ladylike silhouettes in striking colors and prints galore, all from $19.99 to $199.99. Gurung’s collection hits Target stores and online on February 10.
