Was RHONY Star Carole Radziwill’s Giddy Hurricane Tweet Insensitive?

As millions of people throughout New Jersey and New York braced for the record-breaking damage from Hurricane Sandy, The Real Housewives of New York star Carole Radziwill was having a grand old time.

On Monday night (October 29), when the storm was wreaking the most havoc on the Tri-State area, Carole tweeted, “Maybe I'm strange but can't think of another place I'd rather be 2nite than NYC.Flood of 2012. Love eye of storms. History.#stormsandy

Considering how many people saw their homes destroyed, and will be without power for up to 10 days, not to mention the 50 people (at press time) who have died due to Sandy’s destruction, was Carole’s giddy tweet a tad insensitive?

On one hand, Carole has an extensive reporting background as a former producer for ABC News. So she has a natural curiosity and fascination with epic news stories such as Hurricane Sandy. On the other hand, many of her neighbors aren’t exactly thrilled that their lives are at a standstill thanks to Sandy.
