Brad Pitt Gives $100K to Campaign Organization For Marriage Equality
Brangelina fans know that the uber-famous couple have strong feelings about marriage equality. They've publicly declared that they’d never get married until the right was available to everyone, and so far, they’ve stayed true to that commitment — despite their engagement in April.
To raise awareness on the importance of your upcoming vote (or maybe to get Angelina Jolie to walk down the aisle sooner), People reports that Brad Pitt plunked down a $100,000 donation to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) organization, who are currently campaigning for marriage equality in several states.
Brad says in an email to the HRC’s members and supporters, “It's unbelievable to me that people's lives and relationships are literally being voted on in a matter of days.” He explains, “If you're like me, you don't want to have to ask yourself on the day after the election, what else could I have done?"
Dedication to any cause is inspiring, whether it’s Hurricane Sandy Relief or a political cause close to one’s heart. In this case, Brad’s putting his money where his mouth is in the name of love — and we love him even more for it!
