MTV “Actively Exploring” Ways to Help With Jersey Shore Recovery Efforts After Hurricane Sandy
Seaside Heights, home to the Jersey Shore cast for the past four years, has, sadly, been one of the areas hit hardest by Hurricane Sandy. Shocking photos show parts of the famous boardwalk completely ripped apart, while the Shore Store — where the cast of the show used to work — has been left heavily damaged. Not to mention all the other homes and businesses left devastated by the storm. But although filming for the series, currently in its sixth and last season, has wrapped, the cast, crew and network have no plans to abandon the town that supported them for so many years. In a statement to Wetpaint Entertainment, MTV says plans are in the works to help the people of Seaside Heights. It reads: "Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected by the hurricane, especially our friends and business owners in Seaside Heights, NJ who are now part of the MTV family. MTV is actively exploring ways to best help with the recovery efforts, and in the meantime we are encouraging everyone to donate to the American Red Cross' disaster relief efforts."
It’s good to know that MTV is looking into ways to help with disaster relief.
Jersey Shore airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT onMTV.
