Castle’s Stana Katic on the Next Step in Her Career: “I Really Love Doing Period Pieces”
Stana Katic has honed her acting chops as Detective Kate Beckett for almost four years on ABC's hit show Castle, and while she's not ready to turn in her badge quite yet, she is excited for future opportunities outside the walls of the 12th precinct.
"I really love doing period pieces," she told Female First UK. "I don’t feel I’ve gotten a chance yet in my career to explore it as much as I’d like to."
Hot off the heels of her upcoming movie CBGB, Stana admits that she has caught the nostalgia bug. The film takes place in the late '70s and early '80s, when the punk rock music scene was at its height in New York City. Stana plays the part of Genya Ravan, the lead singer of an all-female rock band called Goldie & the Gingerbreads.
So what throwback role is next for the brunette beauty? If she had it her way, she'd travel back in time on the set of HBO's Game of Thrones.
"I actually met the author of the books," she said, "and I obviously didn’t make the right impression yet but I’m doing my damnedest!"
With Stana's impressive archery and horseback riding skills, we could easily see her suiting up for battle against the White Walkers. But we'd gladly settle for a Medieval Times-themed episode of Castle… are you reading this, Andrew Marlowe?
