Nashville’s Top 5 OMG Moments From Season 1, Episode 4: Deacon and Rayna In Bed Together!

This week’s Nashville did not disappoint, as it was packed with crazy twists and jaw-dropping moments — especially with Rayna (Connie Britton) and Deacon (Charles Esten) kinda-sorta hooking up. Here are our picks for the top five OMG moments from Season 1, Episode 4: “We Live in Two Different Worlds.”

5. Deacon does Rayna a favor and gets fired for his troubles.
And we thought our family gatherings were tense. We wish Deacon didn’t let Lamar (Powers Boothe) get him so riled up, since that outburst before the fundraiser apparently means Rayna has to replace him. But let’s be honest getting people riled up is Lamar’s only hobby.

And then how intense was their performance of “Changing Ground”? We enjoyed the song itself, but watching everyone telepathically wish the other people in the room were dead was a little distracting.

4. Who wouldn’t want to booty call Deacon?
Feels kinda good watching Juliette’s (Hayden Panettiere) fall from grace, doesn’t it? (Uh-oh! We hope that sentence doesn’t make us bad people!) But watching Juliette slowly reconnect with her mom has helped to humanize Juliette, and we’re actually growing to gasp! like her a teensy bit.

Might we actually be rooting for Juliette to have more than just a fling with Deacon? We wouldn’t have thought so a couple weeks ago, but those two seem to be all each other right now, so you know what? They have our blessing at least until Rayna’s marriage inevitably falls apart. Then, Deacon is all Rayna’s.

3. Gunnar hooks up with Hailey. (Sorry, Scarlett: You snooze, you lose!)
Are you still firmly on Team Garlett? Sure, we still love Scarlett (Clare Bowen) and Gunnar’s (Sam Palladio) voices together (it was so not fair that they didn’t sing this week!), and we want her to kick Avery to the curb ASAP.

But Gunnar and Hailey (Gunley?) are pretty cute, too that is, if it’s cute to refer to the girl you’re sleeping with as a guy. Given that Hailey loves Gunnar’s music almost as much as she loves yogurt, we’re willing to give these two a shot. Time to add an extra seat to that kayak.

2. One more reason to despise Teddy. Great.
Every episode just reminds us of how freakin’ awesome Deacon is (he was willing to play Teddy’s (Eric Close) fundraiser even though he’s besties with Coleman (Robert Wisdom)!) and how Teddy is basically the opposite of awesome. And now we meet Peggy, who not only had the hots for Teddy 15 years ago but just might have been having an affair with him despite the fact that they’re both married. We barely know Peggy, and we’re already sick of her.

1. Please don’t be a dream, please don’t be a dream... Dammit! It’s a dream!
Okay, so the most shocking moment wasn’t even real. But don’t try to pretend that, for the first few blissfully ignorant seconds of the episode, you weren’t the happiest that you’ve been while watching this show (and just in life in general).

Yes, this steamy sexy scene really was that amazing especially given how turbulent Rayna and Deacon’s real-life relationship currently is. Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re about to go re-watch that first scene, oh, about a thousand times.

Truly OMG.

My jaw dropped!
