Real Housewives’ Kim Richards Says Recovering From Addiction In the Public Eye Was “Difficult”
Kim and Kyle Richards are confident that Kim will be in a much better place at the start of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Season 3 than she was last season.
The two sisters appeared on Access Hollywood on October 31, and Kim spoke about her struggle with addiction. “Recovery is a difficult process for anybody to go through,” Kim acknowledges. “I think going through recovery in the public [eye] is definitely a lot more pressure.”
Kim — who entered rehab after the end of Season 2 and is now living sober — says she decided to return to the show this season to help inspire others who have endured a similar battle. “This would be a chance to see that if I can do it, then they could do it too,” Kim says.
Kyle is glad her sister is returning to the show, in part because she thinks Kim hasn’t seemed like her true self in previous seasons.
“I wanted her [to come back] if she felt comfortable and strong enough,” Kyle says. “She really felt strong about not going out on that note in Season 2. It was very painful for her and for my family because that’s not the real Kim.”
Kyle also promises that Season 3 will offer plenty of drama, especially with newcomer Yolanda H. Foster added to the mix. “She’s a firecracker,” Kyle says. “You’re going to have to wait and see.”
Luckily, we won’t have to wait too much longer! Monday can’t get here soon enough.
