Top 5 WTF Moments From Castle Season 5, Episode 5: “Probable Cause”
This week’s episode of Castlecould easily be deemed one of the Top 3 episodes ever. Frankly, it was just that good. From the meticulously perfect (and heinous) crime, to the return of a psycho killer, this show knows how to push the boundaries of emotion to the brink. Did anyone else jump when that car rammed into Caskett on the bridge? Just checking.
But at times we’re left with a few head-scratchers, too. Check out our top WTF moments from Castle Season 5, Episode 5: “Probable Cause.”
Yes, Alexis works in the morgue, which surely doesn’t bring in the heftiest of paychecks, but her dad is one of the most popular authors in the country. He goes through money like salad and breadsticks at Olive Garden. And yet, when Alexis comes home, she brings her laundry and makes a beeline for the fridge, because it’s free.
While in most cases, we would applaud you, next time, just drop it off at the nearest dry cleaners. We’re pretty sure someone in that household can afford it.
2. 3XK Is Back … and he’s Seriously Out to Get Castle!
Jerry Tyson, aka 3XK, went above and beyond in the name of revenge this week to rock Castle’s world in the worst possible way. For six weeks, he plotted, prepped, and committed an almost perfect crime to have Castle take the fall. Hiring a Castle double, dating a commercial real estate employee, planting and erasing fake emails on Castle’s computer. And for what? Something that happened four years ago when he foiled your plan to … kill?
We’ve heard of grudges before (Kanye West vs. Taylor Swift and the rest of the world anyone?), but at some point you have to put it in a song and move on.
From Tyson to the two fakers helping Castle escape, apparently anyone can just waltz up to the 12th, suit up, and fight crime, if they really wanted to. Is there someone just doling out uniforms downstairs to any abled-body that wants one? That doesn’t make anyone feel safe.
4. Castle is Saved By … Castle?
Speaking of cops, exactly how did Castle pull off this escape? We know that he’s friends with some very important people in very powerful places, but c’mon. Someone owed him a favor that huge that they could call up two of his buddies and have them play pretend police officers without anyone suspecting? We’re going to need a better explanation than that.
5. Castle Actually Has Aim!
We’ve seen Castle hold a gun before, but the thought of firing it usually makes him a little squeamish. Until Monday, that is.
When 3XK drags Beckett hostage-style over to Castle’s side of the car, everyone’s in for a little surprise. 3XK turns to find a gun-welding Castle, who barely has a clear shot at Tyson since he is using Beckett as a human shield. But that doesn’t stop Castle from firing a number of rounds into Tyson’s chest, enough to literally send him over the end of the bridge and into the river below.
They say the heart makes you do crazy things and this has to be one of them. But it worked out in the end — unless Tyson really is alive and not sleeping with the fishes. Then he’s going to be super pissed.
