Real Housewives of New York

How Ramona Singer and Countess LuAnn Survived Hurricane Sandy

Pretty much everyone who was around during Superstorm Sandy has a story to tell, and the Real Housewives of New York are not exceptions. While the entire cast seems to have muscled through the storm, their safety came not without effort, and both LuAnn de Lesseps and Ramona Singer have now spilled their survival stories and post-storm recovery.

Speaking to Celebuzz, the duo explained that they hunkered down with their families – LuAnn with Jacques and her kids in Long Island and Ramona with her hubby Mario and daughter Avery in their apartment on the Upper East Side – and waited it out.

"I filled up my bathtub, stocked up on batteries for the flashlights, got a cooler and ice for the freezer to preserve food," said LuAnn. "My biggest asset was my battery-powered radio. I was able to be connected to the outside world." Ramona, meanwhile, stocked up on enough food and rental flicks to last her four days and luckily was left “unscathed” by the hurricane (unlike her assistant, who she said had a tree fall into her bedroom).

Post-Sandy, Ramona’s apparently started riding the subway system for the first time, and LuAnn’s one of the lucky residents who has had continued power in her city apartment.

Sounds like these two will have a lot to be grateful for this Thanksgiving!
