Pretty Little Liars Ezria Clue: What Does “Papa” Mean?

If there is one couple on Pretty Little Liars that is full of drama ... well, it’s Spoby. But if there’s one couple that is full of drama and aware of it, it’s Ezria. Secret baby mamas, secret babies, potentially fake ghost-writing gigs … it’s all very up in the air right now for the precious couple.

And after Garrett’s (Yani Gellman) revelation about Aria’s (Lucy Hale) father during the Halloween episode (Season 3, Episode 13: “This Is a Dark Ride”), could the fact that Byron Montgomery (Chad Lowe) was with Alison (Sasha Pieterse) on the night she disappeared come to affect the couple as well?

PLL writer Andy Reaser recently took to Twitter to welcome Ian Harding (Ezra Fitz) to Instagram by posting a picture of the actor to his own account with the caption: “Welcome to Instagram, actuallyharding !!!! put aria's puzzle away.”

We know that Andy loves to use Mona’s (Janel Parrish) code whenever he can, which means that this caption was almost certainly mean to spell out “Papa”.

This could very literally be referring to the fact that Ezra is a father, because we’re sure that secret will come up again soon. But could it be talking about Aria’s father instead?

Could Ezra know something about Byron? Or perhaps he just helps to solve the Byron-Alison "puzzle"?

Ezra could have nothing to do with it, but if Aria finds out about that night, we’re sure Ezra will at least have to hear about it — or, if Aria doesn't tell him, that's yet another huge secret between them. So in a way, he will be affected by Byron’s secret no matter what happens.

Do you think Ezra’s absence on the “A” train could have something to do with Byron, that night, or the “A” team in general? Or was he simply being a good “papa” and visiting his son? (Or was the ghost writing story true?)

Catch the return of PLL Season 3 on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
