Injured Derek Hough Will Return to DWTS All-Stars … But So Will Mark Ballas (VIDEO)

Get used to seeing the trio of Shawn Johnson, Derek Hough, and Mark Ballas on Dancing With the Stars All-Stars — although not because of Derek’s injury anymore.

Derek had to sit out the Week 7: Performance Show, letting his best friend (and Shawn's former partner) Mark step in, but after Monday’s Performance Show, he said he’s planning to return to dance next week.

"Today is the first day that it feels like I can go back, that I’m ready to go," Derek told Entertainment Weekly. “I got my proper diagnosis this morning ... I have to get surgery on it eventually but I found out [dancing] is not going to do more damage. It will still probably be painful and some days will be worse than others but now that I know it’s not going to do more damage, it’s peace of mind.”

However, Week 8 marks the return of Trio Dances, with the remaining All-Stars pairs choosing a second pro partner to join them in the dance. Shawn & Derek chose — guess who! — Mark.

The trio talked to On the Red Carpet about reuniting again, which may be tough for Shawn, considering how much stress it was to deal with her new “husband” from All-Stars and “ex husband” from Season 8 at the same time. But Derek and Mark have six Mirror Ball trophies between them, so it’s hard to look at this threesome as anything other than major favorites to get another perfect score next week.

Are you excited for another fusion of Team Shark and Team Shawnough?
