Grey’s Anatomy Season 9, Episode 5 Spoiler Roundup: Spotlight on Meredith, Cristina, and … Lexie?

Ah, the curse of the Grey's Anatomy hiatus. Waiting an extra week for the next episode of Season 9 was torture.

If you can't hold on until Season 9, Episode 5: “Beautiful Doom” airs (on November 8) to find out what happens next, we've rounded up up the juiciest spoilers about the episode right here.

It's the Twisted Sisters show. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Cristina (Sandra Oh) might be separated by several states at the moment, but that won't stop this episode from focusing entirely on our favorite friendship. As the official press release about the episode explains, this episode will be all about Mer and Cristina continuing "to cope with life after the plane crash and their ever-growing responsibilities at their respective hospitals."

Derek will appear. For those of you wondering if this means no McDreamy at all this week, never fear: Derek (Patrick Dempsey) will appear in this episode.

Meredith balances Zola, work, and loss. The press release goes on to say that Mer "juggles taking care of Zola with a case that hits close to home." And by "hits close to home," they mean that she winds up with a critical patient who not only looks a bit like Lexie (Chyler Leigh), but has very similar injuries to the ones the killed Little Grey. We assume this means this episode is the one where Mer "finally has a moment when she really mourns" the loss of her sister.

As for Cristina... Meanwhile, according to the press release "Cristina assists Dr. Thomas on a challenging heart surgery." Based on this sneak peek, it looks like Cristina is starting to adjust to life in Minnesota.
