Single Mom Starts Business as Professional Snuggler
The therapeutic benefits of a quality cuddle are indisputable — after all, everyone needs a little comforting affection from time to time. Jackie Samuel, a 29-year-old single mom and college student from Rochester, NY took that idea and ran with it when she elected to open The Snuggery, where clients can soak up some non-sexual cuddling for $60 an hour.
Trying to raise her son and cover her tuition costs, Jackie considers herself a complete professional, telling the Daily Mail, “I think I was born knowing how to snuggle. Snuggling is healthy, spiritual, and fun.”
As for what her clients are seeking, she explains, “I think clients come to me for all different kinds of reasons. Some of my older clients, their wives have passed away, and they just need someone to be with, like someone to experience touch with. Some of the younger clients are between relationships, some are in problematic relationships, and some people are just really curious and they come to just find out what it's going to be like.”
Clients are allowed to cuddle with Jackie anywhere in her cottage, a.k.a. The Snuggery, but they are not allowed to touch her anywhere that’s covered by her bra or underwear. She typically wears pajamas to keep the cuddling extra comfy for herself and her clients!
