Cee Lo Green Talks Usher Replacing Him on The Voice Season 4: “I Can’t Think of Anybody Else Who Could Have Done It” (VIDEO)
Watching Cee Lo Green’s crazy outfits on The Voice Season 3 just makes us a little anxious for Season 4 of the show when he’ll be taking a hiatus.
But filling in for Papa Cee Lo is his good friend, Usher. And though the “Crazy” singer is sad to be temporarily leaving his post, he’s already guaranteed his fans that he’ll be back for Season 5. But the singer is leaving for a good reason— to focus on his music.
“I’m leaving to continue more work,” he told the Associated Press. “I’m going to finish a couple of recording projects. [Fans of my music] have missed out on me for a few years because I’ve been completely preoccupied with television.”
And Cee Lo’s confident in Usher as a coach.
“He’s an old friend of mine,” Cee Lo revealed. “I can’t think of anybody else who could have done it besides Usher at this moment in time. Of course I care about this show, and I want the show to survive. I want the integrity intact for when I get back.”
