Grey’s Anatomy Season 9, Episode 5 Spoilers: 4 Things We Learned From the Sneak Peeks

Grey's Anatomy wasn't new last week, which makes tonight's episode (November 8), Season 9, Episode 5: “Beautiful Doom,” even harder to wait for than normal.

We can't make time speed up, but we can try to keep ourselves distracted by dissecting the sneak peek and previews of the episode for clues. So, of course, that's what we've done! Here are the four most interesting things we've learned.

1. Meredith suffers from serious deja vu. In this sneak peek from TVLine, we learn that Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) winds up with a patient who not only looks a lot like Lexie (Chyler Leigh), but is suffering from very similar wounds to the ones that killed Mer's sis (though from a car crash this time). In the sneak peek we see that Mer is overly emotionally invested from that get-go, and in the preview for the episode (below) we see Richard (James Pickens Jr.) question her judgement because of her emotions about the case. Will Mer end up a hero, or will she go too far?

2. Mer overwhelmed. One thing the sneak peeks make clear is that Mer is a bit overwhelmed by doing her doctoring duties while also taking care of Zola. In the first sneak peek below, we learn that Zola is potty training and Mer is kinda freaking out about mommy duty, and in the second one she runs into trouble when Callie (Sara Ramirez) has a last minute surgery and can no longer babysit.

3. Is Zola sick? In the second sneak peek above, Callie mentions that Zola has a fever. She thinks it's nothing, and we really hope she's right!

4. Is Cristina warming up to Minnesota? In the first sneak peek above, Cristina (Sandra Oh) seems to really be settling into her new life. Sure, she's still snarky, but she's normal-Cristina levels of snarky, instead of totally-depressed-Cristina levels. She even says hi to her neighbor!

Meanwhile, in the sneak peek below, we see that she's deeply involved the kind of complicated case she loves — and she stands up to Dr. Parker in defense of Dr. Thomas. Could she be starting to really find her place in her new hospital?
