Meet the New Gerber Baby! (VIDEO)

We all recognize Gerber baby food from the adorable baby on the label, but she’ll be joined by a new tiny tot this year!

The popular company recently hosted a Facebook contest to find the new face of the “Gerber Generation,” and 8-month-old Mary Jane Montoya beat out more than 300,000 hopeful babies to take the grand prize of $50,000!

But what will a baby do with all of that money? Save it. When her parents, Sara and Billy Montoya, stopped by the Today Show for the announcement, they revealed that it’s going straight into Mary Jane’s college fund. Smart thinkin’!

Don’t worry, y’all — you’ll still be able to find your baby food in the grocery store. Mary Jane won’t be replacing the original Gerber baby, 85-year-old Ann Turner Cook; she’ll only be starring in ad campaigns throughout 2013.

In the video below, you can see exactly why Mary won. Throughout the interview, she makes funny faces, bounces up and down on her mama’s lap, and shakes her toys around. And original Gerber baby Ann approves of the change, too, saying, “Mary is just adorable, and she’s a delightful little person!”

This contest runs annually, so be sure to snap some photos of your little ones! Who knows, maybe we’ll even see one of our favorite Teen Mom’s kids take home the prize next year.
