RHONY Producers Talking To “At Least Two New Women” for Season 6 – Exclusive
Earlier today, Page Six reported that the producers of The Real Housewives of New York were speaking with fashion personality Jene Luiciani about potentially joining the show’s upcoming sixth season. Now, Wetpaint Entertainment can confirm that while Luiciani has been approached, she’s not the only woman under consideration.
“There’s at least one more person they’re currently looking at,” a production insider tells Wetpaint Entertainment. “She may turn out to be a better fit for the show than [Luciani].”
The reason? “Jene fits the bill in terms of money and class, but she’s primarily based in Westchester, not in New York City. That’s where she spends most of her time. The other woman they’re interested in lives in Manhattan, which just works better for the show. They’re really looking for city girls, not suburban moms.”
So who is the mysterious second candidate? Until she’s a little farther down the road in the audition process, our lips are sealed. After all, says the insider, “this is all in the very early stages.”
It’s so early, in fact, it’s still unclear if the new woman or women will join the current cast – or replace an existing one. One thing is clear, however, says the insider: “I don’t think any of the current cast members are looking to leave right now. If they don’t return for Season 6, it won’t be their choice.”
