While the details are still under wraps, the author revealed a few juicy tidbits today (November 9) in a BBC radio interview (via Guardian UK): "The new novel is set in present-day London, with an entirely new scenario for Bridget," she teased. "If people laugh as much reading it as I am while writing it then we'll all be very happy."
Instead of obsessing over only her diet and vices (smoking and drinking), Bridget is instead focused on building her Twitter following. “She’s never really going to change,” added Fielding.
As first announced back in 2009, the author is also working on a third Bridget Jones film, which is not based on the novel currently in progress. Like the book, it’s reportedly slated for 2013.
Renee Zellweger, who played the titular unlucky-in-love diarist in the first two movies — Bridget Jones’s Diary and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason— will reprise the role in the third one. This time, however, she’s trading in the yo-yo diet for a fat suit, reports the Daily Mail.
