At the time, The Hollywood Reporter speculated that the decision was based not on the highly publicized scandal, but rather on the actress’s daunting salary — especially compared to the relative bargain that was Huntsman Chris Hemsworth.
However, Deadline was quick to shoot down the report with a statement from Universal: “We are extremely proud of Snow White and the Huntsman and we’re currently exploring all options to continue the franchise,” explained co-chairman Donna Langley. “Any reports that Kristen Stewart has been dropped are false.”
And now Kristen herself has weighed in, telling The Hollywood Reporter she thinks “there’s a strong possibility” a followup film could see the light of day.
Whether or not she commands a part in it — and Rupert signs on as director — remains to be seen.
