MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew Cancelled After Seven Seasons

Good thing Randy Jackson still has American Idol to fall back on.

Variety reports that America’s Best Dance Crew, produced by Randy and Warner Horizon, has been cancelled after seven seasons on the air.

Despite the show’s overall popularity, MTV saw ratings continue to slide each year. According to TVLine, Season 7’s finale was barely able to draw more than one million viewers.

MTV released an official statement about the decision, saying, “We are grateful to Randy Jackson and Warner Horizon for having brought our audience seven amazing seasons of dance with 'ABDC,' and look forward to more successful and dynamic entertaining collaborations in the future."

ABDC enjoyed a relatively successful run, even as major changes shook up the show over the last few seasons. Most notably, the departure of choreographer Shane Sparks over child molestation charges forced big changes at the judges’ table, which included former ‘N Sync member JC Chasez and rapper Lil Mama. R&B singer Omarion joined the show during Season 5, and former So You Think You Can Dance contestant D-Trix later replaced him in Season 6 and 7.
