Wetpaint Entertainment caught up exclusively with actor Dean Geyer at a Young Storytellers Foundation event on October 20, and we asked him all of our burning questions. Dean didn’t have any straight answers, but he certainly didn’t shoot down the idea of either romance, confirming Brody and Rachel’s paths will definitely keep crossing. Who knows what could happen?
There’s been some speculation that Brody might have had a romantic past with his teacher, Cassandra. Will we learn more about that? Wow! As far as I know — I actually don’t know if there’s been any history with them. I only really know what I’ve read up to and that’s Episode 8. So I’m kind of still learning who I am, who Brody is, to make it easier for me to play the character. I don’t know anything about anyone else; I’m trying to concentrate on myself. But I mean there may be a story.
Look, let’s just be honest, Rachel, Brody, Cassandra and Kurt [Chris Colfer] who is in New York right now, their storylines have to cross at some point in time. So all I’m saying is in the future there may be some story lines that cross.
Now that Rachel and Finn are broken up will she and Brody get together or are things still too complicated? Every relationship where there’s someone in the middle choosing between two people is going to be complicated. With Rachel, I think she’s really indecisive and things tend to sway her pretty easily so she may have a hard time bouncing back and forth with the good aspects of Brody, the good aspects of Finn and the bad aspects of both of them. So I think it’s going to take a bit of time for her to choose.
As you know, we know very little about Brody’s backstory, will we be learning more about him soon? Or not before Episode 8? Definitely not. The most we know is that he’s from Montana and he was not a popular kid and he moved to New York to pursue his dreams. That’s the most that I know, hopefully they give me a bit of a backstory.
