The Vampire Diaries

Julie Plec Has a New Project: What Does That Mean For The Vampire Diaries?

Do you have room in your heart for two Julie Plec shows? Of course you do! The Vampire Diaries’ executive producer and Greg Berlanti are adapting the UK’s The Tomorrow People for the CW, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The show originally aired in the UK in the ‘70s and tells the story “of young people around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution who possess special powers, including the ability to teleport and communicate with one another telepathically. Together, they work to defeat the forces of evil,” reports THR.

That sounds right in JP’s wheelhouse. (She used to work on Kyle XY, remember?) She and Berlanti used to write for Dawson’s Creek together, so we’re hoping they’ll be able to recreate some Capeside magic with the new show.

It’s still very early in development, and Plec managed to balance TVD with writing the screenplay for Tiger’s Curse this summer. And Kevin Williamson has been working on two shows for years — Vampire Diaries and Secret Circle (RIP) and now The Following.

We’re sure Julie can work her magic on two shows, no problem. Congratulations, Julie!
