Who Is the Bachelor Canada’s Brad Smith? 5 Things You Need to Know!

Down here in the United States, we’ve been twiddling our thumbs for months in anticipation of the next season of The Bachelor. However, as we languish in a Bachelor-less desert, our neighbors to the north are in the middle of the very first season of The Bachelor Canada. So who is this eligible bachelor that’s bringing all the Canucks to the yard?

His name is Brad Smith, and other than the fact that he’s freaking adorable, here’s what you should know about him.

He’s not really the first Canadian Bachelor!
He may be the first bachelor on Bachelor Canada, but Brad isn’t the first Canadian Bachelor. That honor belongs to Season 5’s Jesse Palmer, who hails from Toronto, Ontario. Their nationality isn’t the only thing they have in common, either. Brad and Jesse are both football players, and they have even played for the same team: the Montreal Alouettes, though not at the same time.

Football runs in his family.
Brad’s dad, The Honourable Senator Larry Smith, sticks to politics these days, but earlier in his career he was the commissioner of the CFL. Before that, he was a player himself.

He’s a total trivia nerd!
Brad says he can beat anyone in a game of trivia. Now that’s a challenge we’d love to take on, especially if we can pick the category. (Uh, we’ll take “Bachelor Trivia” for $1,000, Alex!)

He went to an all-boys school.
He may be a ladies man now, but before college, Brad received an academic scholarship to a prestigious all-boys prep school.

Brad likes a low-maintenance lady.
Leave your Bump-Its and stilettos at home if you’re trying to woo Brad. He likes a girl “who can feel good wearing a ponytail, sweatpants and a sweatshirt. He says, if she can look good to him like that, she will look good to him forever.”

It’s official: this guy is perfect.
