Rosewood, Pennsylvania, the small town in Pretty Little Liars, looks like such a lovely place. There are young people getting killed left and right and a group of sociopaths torturing a group of teen girls. But does this town actually exist?
The answer: No. Rosewood, which is supposed to be a upper-middle class suburb that is about an hour outside of Philadelphia, is 100% fictional. (Thank God!) However, most of the scenes that are used for PLL are shot in the famed Warner Brothers Studio in Burbank, CA, on the old Gilmore Girls set.
Fun fact: The PLL pilot was filmed in Vancouver, which has become a hotbed of filming for West Coasters who need to find a stand-in city for East Coast scenes. However, once the pilot was picked up by ABC Family, the show was moved to SoCal.
