Who Was the First Bachelor? A Few Fun Facts About Alex Michel
Alex Michel, a “management consultant,” was the first Bachelor to take a shot at love on national television. He may not be the hottest Bachelor in the six-pack abs and devilish smile categories, but he definitely has some sexy brains going for him. The most impressively-educated Bachelor to date, Alex holds degrees from both Stanford and Harvard.
In his season of The Bachelor, Alex didn’t propose to anyone, but he did take a chance at a relationship with his chosen girl, Amanda Brown. Amanda beat out runner-up, Trista Rehn, who you might remember as the first Bachelorette (and the first of the franchise to find a spouse through the show).
So what is he up to nowadays? He’s still consulting in one way or another. According to Corporate Artists, Alex is available for speaking engagements with titles like, “Lessons From Candlelight Dinners Applied to the Corporate Jungle.” Iiiinteresting! Alex is also a “Romance and Proposal Expert” for Princess Cruises, which is kind of funny, since as far as we know he’s never actually popped the question.
