The Vampire Diaries

Why Did Klaus Save the Hunter Connor in Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 3, “The Rager”?

There is always a lot going on in The Vampire Diaries, so we don’t blame fans for sometimes being confused about all the intricate plot points and twists. Don’t worry! We here to help clear things up!

In Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 3, “The Rager,” one big twist came when Klaus (Joseph Morgan) vamped out of the explosion he and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) had rigged, bringing Connor (Todd Williams) along with him. Later, Klaus used his blood to cure Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) werewolf venom poisoning.

So, what was up with that? Well, we don’t find out until Season 4, Episode 4, “The Five.” It turns out Connor was a member of the Brotherhood of the Five, magical hunters who have tattoos that form a map leading to a cure for vampirism.

Obviously, Klaus doesn’t want that cure for himself. But if Elena reverts back to being human, then he can take another crack at building a hybrid army. If you recall, Rebekah (Claire Holt) ruined all three of Klaus’s remaining bags of that sweet, sweet doppelganger blood. His plans were foiled again when Elena broke Connor’s neck in Season 4, Episode 5, “The Killer.”

Of course, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) has a hunter’s tattoo, now. Let’s hope he manages to keep that secret from Klaus...
