We recently had a chance to chat with Brendan Robinson (Lucas Gottesman) at the TV Guide Magazine Hot List party, and while he wouldn't give away anything too big, he did spill a few details about the upcoming season, including when we'll learn more about Lucas and Jason's (Drew Van Acker) connection, when he cracks, and what we can expect from the 3B finale.

Wetpaint Entertainment: Season 3A ended with shock — will 3B be able to surprise fans as much?
Brendan Robinson: Yes. If you thought the finale on 3A was as big as it could possibly get, I'm warning people to be prepared to be completely surprised. I literally can't say anything specific. But we keep topping it every year. I don't know how they do it in the writers' room, but they do it somehow.
When we come back, immediately we're going to see Mona [Janel Parrish], Crazy Mona, getting released from the Radley Sanitarium, and going back to school. So that’s going to cause a lot of chaos — not just for the girls, but for everyone involved. Maybe Lucas, maybe not. I can't say for certain, but he'll be in the mix somehow.
What can you tease about the finale?
All I can [say] is that every year, our finales are based around Hitchcock films — something fun that the writers do. And this year, I can say there is a Winnebago involved, like a motor home. That's all I can say. It's been Tweeted and Instagrammed by our executive producers. I'm assuming it's free information.
Why did Lucas and Jason share a moment in Halloween episode? Are they friends?
Oh, I would say they're acquaintances. There is definitely something going on behind the scenes with them. I can't say too much about that, but you're going to learn more about that in Episode 2 of 3B [Season 3, Episode 15: "Mona-Mania"]. It will kind of unfold there. There is some interesting stuff.
Will we learn more about Lucas' motivations this season?
Yes. Again, that will be in Episode 2 of 3B. I think Marlene, our executive producer, said he's going to crack, finally. So that will happen then.
Will we narrow down our suspects by the finale?
Yes. I think so. There are a lot of questions that came up in the Halloween episode. I think we've started to address that. Everybody thought that Paige [Lindsey Shaw] was involved somehow, but she kind of saved the day. So we're slowly eliminating the people and pick and choose. There will be a lot more of that in the coming season.
