Once Upon a Time Spoilers: New Character Named Helena to Appear in [SPOILER] Episode

We always get excited when a new role on Once Upon a Time is announced. This time, the new casting announcement is for a woman named Helena, who appears in an episode deep into the middle of Season 2.

According to SpoilerTV, the “guest role of Helena is being cast.” Helena will reportedly appear in Season 2, Episode 13, which will air in early 2013.

A casting notice describes Helena as “a 30-year-old brunette who is a sophisticated lady and also a fierce hunter of deadly creatures.”

Who could Helena be, and whose storyline could she impact? It’s a bit strange that her age is so specific, but then again, so is Emma’s (Jennifer Morrison). Emma could only break The Evil Queen’s (Lana Parrilla) curse after her 28th birthday. So Helena will be quite close to Emma in age. We’re also wondering if Helena could be Jefferson’s (Sebastian Stan) daughter Grace’s mother in Storybrooke.

It’s also possible that Helena is a sophisticated lady in Storybrooke, and a fierce hunter in Fairytale Land. We should also consider her mythological name; in Greek mythology, Helena was the most beautiful woman in the world, and the cause of the Trojan war. Since we know we’re entering new worlds, why not introduce characters from mythology?
