Well, we didn’t see that coming. No, not Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) actual breakup. That we saw coming from a mile away but were frozen like a deer in the headlights shaking like the last leaf of autumn trembling before the first winter’s snow.
Sorry, we should really save our feelings for our vampire diary feelings journal. It’s just that Stefan looked so sad! And Elena gets to go prance around at the Miss Mystic Falls pageant with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and havefirelit dances while the younger Salvatore is alone with his hair gel.
And he might stay that way for quite some time. Basically, we don’t think the problem between Stefan and Elena — that she has intense feelings for Damon — is going to resolve itself any time soon. In fact, there are indications that her relationship with Damon might even intensify.
Elena said itself: She’s changed. And while she might yearn for the chance to be human again, right now — while she still has her fangs — she might not be able to resist the allure of Damon.
There are two sides to Elena: the human and the vampire. There are two Salvatores. Maybe she’ll always belong to both of them.
