The X Factor

X Factor 2012 Top 10 Power Rankings: Tate Nation Prevails!

The third round of X Factor Live Shows is complete! Now that Lyric 145 and Jennel Garcia have left the arena, the time has come to decide which districts are the power players in The Hunger Games. We've ranked the X Factor’s groups based on their chance of producing a winner / not drowning in a puddle of tears, and the competition is fierce like Demi's clip-in ponytail.

Name: L.A.'s Over 25s
Members: Tate Stevens and Vino Alan
Ranking: 1
Pros: Well, well, well. Look who's ruling your face, young people. This marks Tate's second week as number one, proving that even small-town noobs from Texas can follow their dreams. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, Carly Rose Sonenclar. Oh wait, you can't because you are a mere child.
Cons: Um, America? We get that you now refer to yourselves as "Tate Nation" and want to secede from the union, but you seem to have forgotten that Tate and Vino are ancient dinosaurs who could expire from old-age at any moment. They are over 25, which is practically dead. In other news, we're growing increasingly concerned that Vino dyes his chintee.

Name: Simon's Groups
Members: Emblem3 and LYLAS 1432 Fifth Harmony
Ranking: 2
Pros: Now that one of the Fifth Harmony ladies is dating that small child from Emblem3, they have doubled their superpowers. Instead of bromancing and sista-friending separately, they're brother-sister-(eye)sexing all over the place, and they're unstoppable. Oh also, they all have great voices and whatevs.
Cons: There is literally nothing bad to say about Emblem3. They are brothers from the same (but also another) mother, they are flawless, they are fabulous, and they will win this competition. Fifth Harmony, on the other hand, need to get it together. These ladies have fabulous voices, but they still haven't mastered the art of vocal harmonies (their name would suggest otherwise). We suggest they study N'SYNC's early records, or Now That's What I Call Music Volumes 1-20.

Name: Britney's Teens
Members: Arin Ray, Beatrice Miller, Carly Rose Sonenclar and Diamond White
Ranking: 3
Pros: Britney is the only judge in this competition who still has four power players on her team, which says a lot about who run this mother (answer: girls). Carly Rose could win this thing hands down, and if worst comes to worse, Arin can always hypnotize the audience into voting for him with his pelvic thrusts.
Cons: Look, we don't want to rain on Beatrice Miller's parade, but guuuurrllll. Just say no to plaid. Poor Bea is having a prepubescent identity crisis on live TV, and we're 100% convinced she's going to show up to next week's show wearing JNCO jeans. Someone save her from herself.

Name: Demi's Young Adults
Members: Paige Thomas and CeCe Frey
Ranking: 4
Pros: Paige and CeCe both have stellar sets of pipes. And, um....moving on.
Cons: Where to begin? Let's start with CeCe. This gal was miraculously saved by the audience vote this week, and we hope she'll be able to get her act together. All we know is that Simon seemed really peeved about that wind machine. Meanwhile, Paige gave a stunning performance while singing for survival, but she needs to lose the backup dancers and flashy props and get back to basics if she's going to make it through this thing without L.A. being like "I DID NOT FEEL THE CHILLBUMPS" everytime he looks at her.
