Tony Dovolani Suffers Back Injury, Gets MRI Before DWTS All-Stars Semifinals (UPDATE)

UPDATE: Tony tweeted an update later on Monday: "Well .... Good news no bone damage but a sever sprain !!!!!! Pain management Who ever knows me knows the answer to the question about tonight ;)" Sounds like he'll be dancing, right?

Original story:

Not again!

Last month, Melissa Rycroft was rushed to the hospital after hurting her neck during Dancing With the Stars All-Stars rehearsals. And now her pro partner, Tony Dovolani, has injured himself during practice.

Late Sunday night, @DancingABC tweeted, "@TonyDovolani hurt his back today in rehearsal. We don't have all the details just yet, but we'll post updates as we get more info on his status for tomorrow night's show." Monday morning, Tony tweeted, "At the doctors office getting the MRI Wish me luck." Good luck, Tony! Melissa and Tony were the stars of Week 8, topping the judges' leaderboard by a considerable margin. We'd hate to see them at a disadvantage going into tonight's Semifinals Performance Show.

So many stars have been injured this season, but most have been able to pull through to the point that we would never have known they were hurt. Even pro Derek Hough, who had to take a week off due to an inflamed injury, came back so strong you'd never know he was in pain.

Melissa and Tony are scheduled to dance an Argentine Tango and a “Caveman” Hustle tonight. Here's hoping Tony will be fit to perform. Get well soon!

Catch a new episode of Dancing With the Stars Season 15: All-Stars on Monday, November 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
