Castle Review: What Did You Think of Season 5, Episode 8: “After Hours”?
That sound you hear, dear Castle fans, isn't Carly Rae Jepsen's pop hit "Call Me Maybe" — it's Rick Castle and Kate Beckett having their very first fight. It was bound to happen at some point, but the good news is that our favorite primetime couple handled it like champs. Nothing like running from a group of ruthless mobsters to put things into perspective, right?
What made Season 5, Episode 8: "After Hours" so anxiety-inducing wasn't the disastrous meet-the-parents dinner or even the scary Sunday-school nuns — it was watching Castle and Beckett work through their differences while simultaneously fighting for their lives.
And when Castle was forced into the back of the mobsters' SUV, it didn’t matter that he's a world-famous author and she's just a cop. Something bigger was at stake — their lives and their love. In the words of Leo, the psychotic gun-wielding version of Dr. Drew, living your life for now makes much more sense than worrying about the future.
So when Castle and Beckett's differences were what ultimately saved them, we knew they would be OK — and the same goes for Martha and Jim! Now who saw that one coming?!
