The Vampire Diaries

Vampire Diaries Season 4 Spoilers: What Are Professor Shane’s Motives?

When Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec recently spoke with reporters, everyone was curious about all the alone time Professor Shane (David Alpay) spent with Bonnie (Kat Graham). Now that Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) been activated as one of the Five, we have two underaged supernaturals to worry about him spending time with. Check out what Julie had to say about the mysterious new professor.

Will Jeremy find Professor Shane?
Julie Plec: Definitely Professor Shane starts to cross paths with our group [in Season 4, Episode 6, “We All Go a Little Mad Sometimes”], with some answers. Whether they are legit or not remains to be seen.

With Professor Shane taking Bonnie out of commission for seven hours and doing as he pleases, is there shady business going on?
Julie Plec: Well, I think it’s a good question because on one hand there is this mentor who is appearing in her life just as she’s in her own darkest place where she feels like she’s lost connection to her magic and like she’s being punished by these spirits and here’s this very bright, very wise, very connected professor who’s saying to her, Hey, let me teach you how to get back in touch with who you really are. So there’s an allure to that which is really great but unfortunately, as we’ve already seen, he has an alternate agenda that he’s hiding. We just don’t know if it’s in her best interest or not. So a lot of that will start coming to light over the next chapter.
