Glee’s Ryan Murphy Wins an International Emmy Award — Presented By Which of His Stars?

As if there was any doubt about how successful Glee creator Ryan Murphy is these days, he’s just collected another well-deserved award to add to his trophy case.

On November 19 in NYC, Ryan received the Founders Award at the 40th annual International Emmy Awards. Jessica Lange who stars in his American Horror Story presented him with the award.

"He is generous, he is inventive, he has a wicked sense of humor,” Jessica told the crowd. She says that Ryan "changed the face of television," which is high praise.

Jessica appreciates that Ryan genuinely cares about her when he will ask her, "Oh, Lange-y, why aren't you happier?" and "What haven't you played? What would you like to do?" And now we’re officially jealous that we don’t get to call her “Lange-y.”

Ryan told the crowd he’s proud that he’s been able to initiate social change while still entertaining people. "The amazing thing about my career is I went into it thinking that writing about social issues would be very, very difficult," Ryan said while accepting his award.

And yet somehow Ryan makes running three successful shows seem like a piece of cake. Congrats, Ryan!
