The Voice Season 3: Who Will Be Eliminated in the Live Results Show, Nov. 20, 2012?
Parting is such sweet sorrow, but someone’s got to get the boot or we’d never have a winner! Last night’s killer performances on The VoiceSeason 3 blew us away, but after tonight’s live results show, the Top 10 will become the Top 8 thanks to America’s votes (or lack thereof).
Now that the four celebrity coaches aren’t guaranteed a spot in the Final 4, the stakes are even higher, but if our predictions are correct, all four can rest easy as things are set to even up this week.
Last week, Team Christina’s Adriana Louise and Team Blake’s Michaela Paige were sent packing leaving an uneven number of contestants on each team.
But tonight, we think Team Cee Lo’s Cody Belew and Team Adam’s Melanie Martinez will be headed home, balancing out the remaining contestants.
We love Cody’s vibrant personality and frequent references to “bam bam,” but his “Crazy In Love” performance last night was frankly a joke in comparison to the current talent level on the show.
Cody’s rock-solid rendition of “Jolene” blew us away in the knockout rounds, but since then, his performances have gotten flashier and his voice has in turn been hidden. He’s almost certainly headed home, but we applaud him for going out with a bang and a booty shake.
While we can appreciate Melanie Martinez’s ethereal, soft tones and pixie-esque style, the singer’s quiet sound simply can’t compare to powerhouse performers like Amanda Brown and Sylvia Yacoub. She used to remind us of last season’s Lindsey Pavao, but the reason Lindsey went further was due to her creative instinct as an artist. If you left Melanie with an acoustic guitar and the sheet music for Ellie Goulding, she’d never look back.
These two are dragging down the current talent level and are sure to be cut in tonight’s show. But if we had it our way, we’d keep Cody’s “bam bam” one more week (purely for entertainment purposes) and ditch the one-dimensional Trevin Hunte. His performance of Usher’s “Scream” last night proved he is a one-trick pony who is stuck in a never-ending loop of ‘90s inspiration ballads.
