She rocked out to Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire” and got the crowd and the coaches on their feet.
And when Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with the feisty singer on the red carpet following her performance, she was still excited, talking about her confidence and her coach.
Wetpaint Entertainment: You seemed very confident on stage tonight. Do you find yourself gaining more and more confidence each week? Sylvia Yacoub: That was definitely the most confident that I’ve been on stage. I actually had fun with it and let go. It felt so good to finally not worry and to just go out there and have fun and touch people with my heart and my voice. Are you getting more used to it every week? Of course I was still nervous, but every week it definitely has gotten better — every single week. Is it hard to get used to the audience staring at you? It is. It’s usually [during] the build up to the performance, and then the second I start singing, I feel better — especially today when the crowd was getting really pumped up and into it. How did you feel about the judge’s feedback? Oh my gosh, it was so great to hear that feedback. For Adam to react that way and then for Christina to say that she saw that I had the whole package and everything, that meant a lot. Hopefully people will see that and vote for me. Christina says that you remind her of herself when she was first starting out. That’s got to be the ultimate compliment … Ah! That never gets old how she keeps doing that! And it’s funny because I went into it [feeling] like we’re so alike, but maybe it’s me being a fan, but when she said it, I was like, “Yeahhh!”
