True Blood

How Do the True Blood Books End?

It’s a question many fans of the HBO hit wanna know, but you might be surprised to know that Charlaine Harris’s Southern Vampire Mysteries novel series isn’t done yet... though the end is near!

The thirteenth and final “Sookie Stackhouse Novel,” entitled Dead Ever After, will be released on May 7, 2013.

So what’s going on in the series? Brace yourselves, Truebies. The show and the novels have precious little in common.

For starters, in the penultimate book, Deadlocked, Sookie is still in a relationship with Eric. (How’s that for ya, Eric-Sookie shippers?) But — spoiler alert! — he breaks up with her after his maker commands him to marry Freyda, Vampire Queen of Oklahoma.

Oh, and for the record, Eric’s maker isn’t Godric, it’s some guy named Appius Livius Ocella... with whom Eric had a relationship with for many years. (How’s that for ya, slash fanfic writers?)

Meanwhile, Sam is not dating Luna but some chick named Jannalynn, a werewolf in Alcide’s wolfpack, who turns on both Alcide and Sookie.

That’s about all we can glean for now. Guess we’ll all have to get caught up between now and May... or glammer Charlaine into spilling the ending.
