Why Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani Will Win DWTS All-Stars
Who will winDancing With the StarsAll-Stars? A female celeb! But it could be any one of these three candidates:Shawn Johnson,Kelly Monaco orMelissa Rycroft. They all have strengths and weaknesses and we’ll be sharing reasons why each of them could win. Here are three reasons why Season 8’s third placer, Melissa, could be taking home her first Mirror Ball trophy.
1. Melissa and Tony have never won before Melissa and Tony Dovolani are like the country kids walking wide-eyed around the big city. They never expected to get this far on All-Stars, even though they got to the finals together back on Season 8. That’s the last time Tony made the finals, too. He has yet to win a Mirror Ball trophy, after being on the show since Season 2. He’s never made it past third place, landing in the same spot with Stacy Keibler on Season 2. Melissa is also the only remaining celeb without a trophy. Kelly already won Season 1 and Shawn won Season 8. People may want to support the “underdogs” — plus, Melissa and Tony are just likable together. They are competitive without being too intense, and genuinely seem happy to be there and enjoy the experience. That’s what this is supposed to be about!
2. The judges love them The judges have yet to give Kelly or Val a 10, and for every time they gush about Shawn and Derek, they also have time where they find fault with stylistic choices. Melissa and Tony, on the other hand, are giving the judges exactly what they want. They had two perfect scores on Week 8 and one perfect score on Week 9. The only reason they didn't get a higher score for their other Semifinals dance is because they danced first, which traditionally results in lower scores, and they had a Caveman Hustle, which still doesn't really make sense. We’d be surprised if they didn’t knock out more perfect scores next week.
3. They have something to prove Not only do Melissa and Tony want to win, they want redemption for their Season 8 Freestyle, which they feel wasn't up to snuff. These two are fierce and competitive and we're sure they will pull out all the stops to impress the judges and the audience. Obviously their fan bases are bigger than they expected, since they knocked out champion after champion to get here. If they win, it will show that they have truly improved from Season 8, and it might also mean their respective injuries were worth the pain!
Check out why we think Shawn will win and stay tuned for our reasons why Kelly will win.
