Boxing Champ Hector ‘Macho’ Camacho Dies After Being Shot in Puerto Rico
Hollywood Life reports that after being shot in the jaw in Puerto Rico on Nov. 20, boxer Hector “Macho” Camacho suffered from cardiac arrest, and on Nov. 24, his mother made the decision to take him off of life support.
Hector, who was 50 years old, was sitting in a car outside of the Puerto Rican capital with his friend Adrian Mojica Moreno when both men were shot. An unknown gunman opened fire and killed Adrian on the scene. But for Hector, the bullet struck him in the jaw and then entered his shoulder and fractured two vertebrae.
According to TMZ, the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
Hector had been a boxer for more than 30 years and had fought the likes of Sugar Ray Leonard and Oscar De La Hoya. He held an impressive record of 79-5-3.
